This is the first time Malaysia will be organizing the International Conference on Addiction Prevention and Treatment (ICAPT) in collaboration with their partner, the Turkish Green Crescent Society.

In many parts of the world, especially developing countries, we observe a conflicting approach between preventive groups especially NGOs and the treatment providers including healthcare Professionals in addressing the drug problem in their country. This leads to confusion and suboptimal outcomes.

This conference provides a platform for NGOs and healthcare providers to synchronize their approach and make it harmonious so that the optimal outcomes can be achieved. Therefore, our conference theme this year, " Prevention, treatment and rehabilitation come together", hopefully will resolve these issues.
