OHCHR report: Implementation of the joint commitment to effectively addressing and countering the world drug problem with regard to human rights

10 September 2018

In its resolution 37/42, the Human Rights Council requested the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) to prepare a report on the implementation of the UNGASS Outcome Document, 'Our joint commitment to effectively addressing and countering the world drug problem' with regard to human rights, and to present it to the Human Rights Council at its thirty-ninth session; and to share the report with the Commission on Narcotic Drugs.

This report is prepared mainly on the basis of submissions received pursuant to a call for inputs to UN member states and other stakeholders, including civil society. The report discusses human rights aspects of various joint commitments of States as provided in the Outcome Document of the United Nations General Assembly Special Session on the World Drug Problem of 2016 (UNGASS 2016).
