8 February 2016

From 28 to 30 September 2015, 318 delegates from 31 countries gathered in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, to participate in the Regional High Level Dialogue on Successful Transition to Domestic Funding of HIV and TB Response in Eastern Europe and Central Asia ‘Road to Success’.

For the first time, the Regional Dialogue brought together representatives of governments of EECA countries, civil society organizations, key populations and communities, international organizations and technical agencies with the goal of discussing commitments and principles of the successful transition from donor to national funding of HIV and TB responses. For the first time, country delegations included not only high-level officials, but also non-governmental organizations and key affected populations and communities.

The event was hosted by the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia and organized together with Eurasian Harm Reduction Network (EHRN), The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and World Health Organization (WHO), with support from United Nations Development Program (UNDP), World Bank and United Nations Populations Fund (UNFPA).
