Guidelines for debate: What is gender perspective?
Today, gender has become the transverse axis of public policy and academic ideas. However, incorporating it is not easy because it involves the deconstruction of a model that for centuries has established a supposed superiority of male over female. It is an idea that invites us to look at the world differently to reveal the power play behind the structured relations of gender, and address the conditions that generate and maintain inequalities between men and women.
This edition of Guidelines for Debate aims to define what gender perspective is and to provide guidance for its incorporation in the development of public programs and policies. To this end, the paper proposes dynamics for discussion that arise from the revision of the precedents and other elements that conform gender perspective.
