Advancing the sexual and reproductive health and human rights of injecting drug users living with HIV

24 November 2010

GNP+, a global network of people living with HIV, has cooperated with INPUD and other partners to produce a series of guidelines for policy makers and service providers in respect of populations affected by HIV and their sexual and reproductive health needs and rights.

The guides target key populations, among them injecting drug users, sex workers, men who have sex with men, migrants and prisoners.

The policy briefing focusing on injecting drug users seeks to discover the key needs and rights of this community around sexual and reproductive health. While many of these issues cut across the entire population of people living with hiv, and acknowledging that some individuals will be members of several of these groups, it is nonetheless true that idus face a specific set of disadvantages and multiple exclusions.
