Centre for education, documentation and research in FYR Macedonia
CEDR is the program within the Macedonian NGO Healthy Options Project Skopje (HOPS) that provides services in the area of education and training, documentation and research.
CEDR offers consultancy services for the preparation, development, monitoring and evaluation of: strategies, action plans, projects, programs, seminars, workshops, conferences, study visits.
The Education Department within CEDR works on raising the level of information and knowledge among policy and decision makers, students, professionals and citizen associations in regards to policies, principles, knowledge and practices related to socially marginalized communities.
CEDR organized the first Summer School on Addictions in Macedonia, organized for the purpose of educating young professional cadres (students, postgraduates or doctorate students on subject-related faculties). The Summer School on Addictions takes place at the end of June every year.
The Documentation Department works on systematizing data about relevant needs, trends, and issues among socially marginalized communities, as well as information about the effect of existing policies and strategies on socially marginalized communities. These data are summarized in corresponding databases, photo, video and e-libraries.
The Research Department within CEDR has at its disposal knowledge and expertise in the area of drug use and addiction treatments, sex work, HIV/AIDS and other blood or sexually transmitted infections, as well as social, health and general human rights. It provides research, training and research-related consultancy services for different social groups and communities concerned with these fields of interest. The CEDR carries out independent research, joint research together with other institutions/organizations and research on the needs of other institutions /organizations / business entities.
