Drug Users Remembrance Day 2019

11 July 2019

The latest numbers from the World Drug Report suggest an estimated 585,000 people lost their lives to drug-related deaths in 2017. That is one death every 54 seconds. And this number does not account for extrajudicial killings, executions and a myriad of human rights violations perpetrated in the name of drug control.

On 21st July, we honour and remember those who have perished in wholly avoidable deaths, and stand in solidarity with affected communities worldwide in demanding policies and attitudes that uplift and support people who use drugs.
