South Africa Drug Policy Week 2017
SA Drug Policy Week will take place over four days, with pre-conference and parallel sessions being facilitated by the Aids and Rights Alliance of Southern Africa (ARASA), The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), The International Network of People Who Use Drugs (INPUD) and the International Drug Policy Consortium (IDPC). There will be plenary presentations, panel discussions and the chance to engage with the experts during break-away sessions where various sectors will discuss and propose solutions. Topics include: The politics of policy, the impact of policy on people, what science says about drugs and drug related harms, HIV and key populations, harm reduction, public health, law enforcement and the war on drugs, human rights and drugs, women and drugs, sex work and drugs, stigma and the social context and drivers of drug use.
