The conference will address the treatment and recovery of alcohol, other drugs and behavioural addictions and is hosted by the Australian and New Zealand Mental Health Association (ANZMH).

Different types of addiction, prevention, assessment, treatment and recovery will be the primary focus of the conference. The co-occurrence and prevalence of mental health and substance abuse will also be addressed.

Addictions do not discriminate across genders, age or culture. Addiction represents one of the areas of health care, mental health and medicine that is least understood, yet generates an enormous burden on society, the healthcare profession, families, carers and individual sufferers.

The Australian and New Zealand Addiction Conference will take a collaborative approach to look at addiction holistically. This multi-disciplinarian program is suitable for a range of medicine and health care professional focused on addiction issues.
