Sandy Mteirek

Sandy Mteirek is a Lebanese human rights advocate and defender championing civil liberties and personal freedoms. With extensive experience in advocacy, Sandy has worked with communities affected by injustice, stigma, and discrimination in Lebanon and the SWANA region, including people who use drugs, LGBTQI+ communities, people living with HIV, refugees and others to lead and contribute to national advocacy campaigns focused on social and criminal justice, freedom of expression, rule of law, and access to health and education.
She currently serves as the Executive Director of Skoun, a harm reduction and addiction treatment center that provides services related to drug use and mental health and advocates for rights-based policies, challenges discriminatory practices, and strengthens legal and social protections for communities facing marginalization.
