Isabel Pereira-Arana
Senior Consultant, Multilateral Advocacy
Isabel is Senior Consultant for Multilateral Advocacy at IDPC, where she supports the Secretariat’s human rights advocacy across key UN fora, including the Commission on Narcotic Drugs and the Human Rights Council. She also contributes to the coordination of IDPC’s civil society network.
Isabel spent ten years as Drug Policy Coordinator at Dejusticia, a human rights organisation in Colombia, where she led work on drug policy reform and its intersection with human rights. She has advised the Global Commission on Drug Policy, the Latin American Inventory on Authoritarianism, and the Global Drug Policy Index at Swansea University. Earlier in her career, she advised international cooperation programmes in conflict-affected areas and represented Colombia in multilateral fora.
Isabel is a Fellow of the Aspen Institute Colombia and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. She is a graduate of Universidad de los Andes and the Geneva Graduate Institute (IHEID).
