Kenyan AIDS NGOs Consortium (KANCO)

The Kenya AIDS NGOs Consortium (KANCO) is a national membership network of NGOs, CBOs, and FBOs, Private Sector actors and Research and Learning Institutions involved in or that have interest in HIV & AIDS and TB activities in Kenya. KANCO was established in 1990. KANCO vision is a Kenyan society free of HIV & AIDS and TB while its mission is to provide leadership, promote collaboration and enhance capacity among Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and other stakeholders to respond to HIV & AIDS and TB at the community level. The goal of the consortium is to provide leadership among CSOs in contribution towards realization of universal access targets in Kenya which is to be achieved through three overarching strategic objectives. These include enhancing the capacity of CSOs at all levels to achieve improved outcomes for HIV & AIDS and TB prevention, treatment care and support programs and deliver on Universal Access targets by 2014; contribution to an enabling policy environment for the realization of Universal Access targets; and strengthening the institutional capacity of KANCO and member CSOs in contributing to the achievements of Universal Access targets in Kenya. Currently KANCO is implementing various project and which are linked to the three strategic areas of focus that is Community system Strengthening, Policy and advocacy and Institutional system Strengthening.
