ICEERS is a philantropic organisation with headquarters in Europe (Spain and the Netherlands) and Latin America (Uruguay), dedicated to integrating the traditional use of substances declared to be illicit as therapeutic tools in society. ICEERS also aims to defend the human rights of people using drugs for ancestral cultural reasons. ICEERS' mission includes: 1- scientific investigation around the medical use of illicit drugs; 2- study and promote policies in the field of drugs, social development and mental health, based on scientific evidence and human rights; 3- provide support and referral services free of charge for people wishing to access treatment using therapeutic plants; and 4- offer legal guidance and support to people caught in the criminal justice system for crimes related to ayahuasca.
