RANAA works to strengthen the role of civil society in limiting the spread of HIV/AIDS in the MENA region, including those working with most at risk populations (MARPs), and ensuring the rights of PLHIV to live in dignity and have access to treatment & care, through enabling its members and providing them technical support, acting as a regional hub for and on civil society that works on HIV/AIDS and assuring their representation through networking at the regional and international levels.

RANAA trabaja para fortalecer el papel de la sociedad civil en: limitar la difusión de VIH/SIDA en la región de Oriente Medio y África del Norte, incluyendo aquellos trabajando con las poblaciones en mayor riesgo, y asegurar los derechos de las personas que viven con VIH para vivir con dignidad y tener acceso al tratamiento y al cuidado, permitiendo a sus miembros y ofreciéndoles apoyo técnicos, actuando como centro regional para y con la sociedad civil que trabaja con VIH/SICA y asegurando su representación a través del trabajo de redes a nivel regional e internacional.

Regional Arab Network against AIDS (RANAA)

The Middle East and North Africa Harm Reduction Association (MENAHRA) and The Regional Arab Network Agianst Aids (RANAA) conducted a meeting for the MENA Civil Sociaty Organizations (CSO's) Position Statement on HIV/AIDS with the support of UNAIDS MENA to claim a unified position for Middle East and North Africa for HIV and harm reduction.

The meeting took place in Beirut, on 1 April 2016 in Padova Hotel and was attended by representatives of national/regional network including CSO's, Key Populations (KPs) and People Living with HIV (PLHIV).
This meeting came in the context of the preparation for the participation of civil society organizations whom will be heard by the United Nations hearing session on April 6 2016 and the high-level meeting on HIV, which will be held in New York in June 2016, during which will be concluded to issue a universal declaration for the coming years about the virus.

MENA Position Statement on HIV/AIDS to the UN General Assembly special session HLM on AIDS

The Middle East and North Africa Harm Reduction Association (MENAHRA) and the Regional Arab/Network Against Aids (RANAA) conducted Regional Dialogue Focus Meeting to consult on the development of the MENAHRA/RANAA Global Fund Regional Concept Note.

The dialogue took place in Crown Plaza Hotel in Beirut, Lebanon, from 8 till 10 December 2015 in the attendance of national AIDS programs managers, representatives of United Nations organizations, civil society organizations, key populations (KPs), related parties and other experts in this field from the MENA region.

This dialogue aimed to discuss major challenges in the field of harm reduction and AIDS, to ensure that strategies and suggested plans in the proposal reflect the multi-stakeholder response, in addition to the participation of KPs and community social organizations in the joint regional project proposal.
