The upcoming 76th session of the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD) will focus on tackling critical issues tied to drug use and trafficking across the Americas. The agenda includes panels and interactive discussions covering topics such as the rise of synthetic drug use and supply, the integration of human rights into drug policies, and creative strategies for alternative development.
Registration
Participants must register in advance. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. on November 19, 2024, in the lobby of the OAS main building.
Civil society participation
On Thursday, November 21, 2024, during the sixth plenary session, there will be a panel on the civil society perspective on substance use interventions with a focus on gender and human rights approaches.
On Friday, November 22, 2024, during the eighth plenary session, accredited civil society organizations will have an opportunity to deliver remarks and contribute to discussions.
