"EQUALIZE": Addressing barriers to HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment among women who use drugs and women in prisons
On the occasion of World AIDS Day 2022, the chairs of the informal Group of Friends of HIV Prevention for People Who Use Drugs and People Living in Prison Settings and the informal UNODC Group of Friends for Gender Equality would like to cordially invite you to the event, "EQUALIZE": Addressing barriers to HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment among women who use drugs and women in prisons.
This event, marking World AIDS Day 2022, will raise awareness about the barriers faced by women who use drugs and women in prison in accessing services related to HIV, including prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT), viral hepatitis, and sexual and reproductive health. The theme of this year’s World AIDS Day – “Equalize” – reflects the need to move from recognizing the inequalities that impede the global response to AIDS to acting on them. This World AIDS Day observation will include perspectives on the barriers to ending HIV/AIDS among women who use drugs and women in prisons.
The event will take place on Thursday, 1st December, 16:00 – 17:00 CET in hybrid format.
Virtual attendance can be freely accessed with the Teams link.
