11 May 2021
This webinar will explore the colonial origins of British policing and trace these legacies into contemporary conversations about the war on drugs, carcerality and racist state violence. We will explore alternatives to punishment and policies that are grounded in principles of decoloniality and abolition.
Organised by Release, the UK centre for expertise on drugs and drugs law in collaboration with Harm Reduction International, Dejusticia, the International Drug Policy Consortium, the Transnational Institute and Voices of Community Action & Leadership, Kenya.
