Management of substance misuse and associated health in primary care conference 2016

10 January 2016

Substance misuse has become a public health threat in Central Asian countries and require additional support from International professional organisations.

The Royal College of General Practitioners (TCGP) Substance Misuse and Associated Health Department strongly believe that this evidence-based training programme can be tailored, adapted, modified and shared across to other parts of the world including Central Asia where opiate and non-opiate addiction poses huge public health threat.

For this reason, RCGP propose to lead an International Conference on, Management of substance misuse and associated health, which will be held on 8-9 February 2016 in Dushanbe city, capital of Tajikistan, and will be a first step for establishing connection with Central Asian Healthcare Institutions.

The programme is designed in order to:

  • bring together world recognised experts whose diverse expertise should stimulate discussions and push cutting edge research and collaborations.
  • explore some of the big challenges that are currently happening in UK and Central Asian countries in the field of substance misuse and to develop a long term collaboration plan.
