What’s the problem? – New drugs trends in Scotland

8 August 2013

The conference “What’s the problem? – New drugs trends in Scotland”, organised jointly by Scottish Drugs Forum and Crew, will give an up to date picture of drug use in Scotland including new psychoactive substances and ‘traditional drugs’. It will also describe and discuss the implications for those planning, commissioning and delivering prevention, treatment and support services to drug users.

The Conference will feature the launch of the findings from three studies:

  • The 2013 National Drugs Trends Survey - SDF’s survey on the latest drug trends in Scotland
  • SDF’s National Survey on the support and information needs on New Psychoactive Substances
  • Results of Crew’s Field Work Survey – drugs trends amongst festival goers

The conference will be co-chaired by Tommy Crombie, Drugs Co-ordinator Police Scotland and Dr Linda de Caestecker, Director of Public Health, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

This conference will be of interest to those managing drug treatment services, supporting people using new psychoactive substances (‘legal highs’) and to the members and staff of Alcohol and Drug Partnerships and Community Planning Partnerships.
