FAST-TRACK or OFF TRACK? How insufficient funding for key populations jeopardises ending AIDS by 2030

23 October 2020

Inadequate funding for key populations jeopardises the plan of eradicating the AIDS epidemic within a decade. This is one of the findings of the first ever study on global funding for the response analysing resources allocated to these vulnerable groups in low and middle-income countries.

The report: Fast-Track or Off Track: how insufficient funding for key populations jeopardises ending AIDS by 2030 also highlights that funding for these marginalised communities is “way off track”, with only 2% of funding for HIV programmes targeting key populations.

The research was commissioned by Aidsfonds and supported by key population programmes Bridging the Gaps and PITCH.

The report was launched today at the HIV2020 conference during a session where the findings were presented for activists, donors and policy makers.
