Evidence planting by Thai police violates the human rights of people who inject drugs

1 July 2009

The findings of this study suggest that Thai police are violating the human rights of people who inject drugs by planting drugs on them. This practice appears to be associated with high risk behaviors such as overdose and syringe lending. Immediate action should be taken to address this form of abuse of power and other punitive tactics used by Thai police.
