About

The Swedish Drug Users Union was created in 2002 to protect the rights of patients undergoing opioid substitution treatment in Stockholm. SDUU soon grew into an organisation for users of both legal and illegal drugs. SDUU is the only drug user-led organisation in Sweden. It advocates for the provision of harm reduction and the protection of human rights for people who use drugs. Today, SDUU is composed of several local user unions, as well as 2,000 members across the country.

Today, SDUU is the only drug user-controlled organization in Sweden, since only users can sit on the board. They advocate for harm reduction and human rights and have several local user unions, as well as 2,000 members across Sweden.
