In a restrictive environment where rights-based approaches are undermined and people who inject drugs are prevented from sustained engagement in HIV prevention and treatment programmes, a successful response to HIV/AIDS and drug use will not be realised.
This project, led by the International HIV/AIDS Alliance, in collaboration with KHANA, AIDS Care China, Alliance India, Rumah Cemara, the Malaysian AIDS Council, Supporting Community Development Initiatives and IDPC, focuses on building the political and social momentum for change by empowering civil society, including people who inject drugs, to inform, to advocate for reform and to bring about social and political change to address HIV and to foster greater participation of people who inject drugs in social and community life.
The project focuses on six Asian countries - India, Indonesia, China, Malaysia, Cambodia and Vietnam.
