In just over a week, the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) will convene in Vienna for the final United Nations meeting on drug policy before the United Nations' great debate on drugs, UNGASS 2016. CND will be a big opportunity to demonstrate support for meaningful drug policy changes, like greater inclusion of harm reduction and protections for human rights in drug control policies.

Advocates from across the movement will be in Vienna making the case -- and it's up to the rest of us to back them up. By amplifying their voices online, we can show the UN's member states just how broad the support for reform is.

That's why we're asking you to join International Drug Policy Reform Day, a movement-wide online day of action meant to elevate the stories of people around the world who've been negatively impacted by the war on drugs and who are calling for reform. It's easy to participate!

1. Share a message on Facebook, Twitter, and/oror Instagram using the #StopTheHarm hashtag.

The message should convey a personal story or reason that illustrates why you want drug policy reform. Your message can be short or it can be long. The important thing is that you share your unique perspective. You can use the following prompt:

• Drug policy reform is important to me because…

2. Join the International Drug Policy Reform Day Thunderclap here.

Thunderclap is a tool that allows you to "donate" a Facebook and/or Twitter status update to a cause of your choosing. Your participation matters a lot -- at least 250 people must agree to donate their status or else the Thunderclap will not be sent.

3. Invite your friends, colleagues, and family to participate.
Spreading the word about the day of action is one of the most important ways for you to participate. Please take a few moments to directly invite your friends and family to the Day of Action's event page.
