COVID-19 pandemic is having a dramatic impact on the most vulnerable communities worldwide and threatens progress against HIV, TB and malaria. Despite the many new challenges the outbreak of COVID-19 presents, the Global Fund remains committed to the core principle of meaningful community and civil society engagement. This commitment extends to their engagement in efforts to respond to the new pandemic and mitigate its effect on the global HIV, TB and malaria responses through continuing tailored service delivery.

The roundtable will represent an opportunity for civil society and communities in EECA to engage with the Global Fund; to learn about the Global Fund response to the pandemic through grant flexibilities and COVID-19 Response Mechanism and community role and opportunities to engage and to share good practices in community engagement in HIV and TB responses in times of COVID-19, tailoring services and avoiding service disruptions
