Good practice for drug offences (alternatives and proportionality): Tuesday 23 May, 13.10 – 14.00, Room M7

At this side-event hosted by the Government of Costa Rica, Penal Reform International and IDPC, an expert panel will present good practice examples of drug policies that align with international standards of relevance to the CCPCJ, including proportionality of sentences and the use of non-custodial alternatives in application of the UN Tokyo and Bangkok Rules. Download the flyer.

In the lead up to the side event, IDPC and PRI have published an Advocacy Note for the CCPCJ, The UNGASS Outcome Document – Opportunities for promoting criminal justice reform, which identifies key aspects of the 2016 Outcome Document that are relevant to the work of the Crime Commission.
