Poverty, development, and drugs: Launch of health poverty action’s report on illicit drug policy

6 February 2015

Health Poverty Action and the Inter-Parliamentary Union will be holding a parliamentary event to launch HPA’s new report, Casualties of War.The report is a call to action for the development sector: it outlines the severe impacts of illicit drug policy on development, and argues that the sector needs to address drug policy if we are serious about tackling the root causes of poverty.

There will be a panel discussion chaired by Baroness Meacher, chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Drug Policy Reform. Speakers will include Sir Keith Morris, former UK ambassador to Colombia.
