This panel debate brings together scholars working on the political economy of drugs, conflict and rural issues in Asia, Africa and Latin America to debate the need of drug policy to incorporate the lessons and insights of an emerging body of research on the political economy of drugs and the role that illicit economies play in broader processes of state formation and agrarian change.
