Reporting by the Secretary-General on “moratorium on the use of the death penalty” pursuant to General Assembly resolution 71/187

Pursuant to General Assembly resolution 71/187 (paragraph 11), the Secretary-General is to report to the General Seembly at the seventy-third session on the implementation of the resolutuion. The office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has issued a letter to NGOs asking to receive relevant information covering developments since 19 December 2019 on the question pf the moratorium on the use of the death penalty and other issues as included in resolution, so as to enable the Secretary-General to report to the General Assembly.

Submissions will preferably be in MS Word format (maximum 1500 words), and should be addressed no later than 1 May 2018 to the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, United Nations CH 1211 – Geneva 10. Responses or any queries may also be sent electronically to registry@ohchr.org.
