UNODC has started developing a guidance document on “How to implement needle and syringe programmes in prisons and closed settings”. The purpose of developing this document is to support countries in mounting effective, needle and syringe programme in prisons. The guidance document will complement and build on previous UNODC, WHO and UNAIDS guidance on HIV in prisons and other closed settings.

UNODC is now seeking feedback on the guidance document. Please read the attached background document, answer the questions in the attached questionnaire, and send your input to AIDS@unodc.org. The guidance document is expected to be finalized before the end of summer.

The document we send for your review does not allow for track changes. However each line has a number. In addition to answering the questionnaire, please list your comments at the end of it, referring to the relevant line(s) number(s).
