HIV Young Leaders Fund on young women who use drugs

11 December 2012

Four out of five people living with HIV in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) are under the age of 30. In these countries, women are increasingly affected by HIV, and now account for 40 percent of new infections (up from 24 percent ten years ago). Youth RISE and HIV Young Leaders Fund also recently co-authored a policy brief highlighting the unique issues faced by young women who use drugs and presented recommendations for an improved response.
