Methadone Man and Buprenorphine Babe - A new campaign for substitution therapy

27 July 2010

Better World Advertising recently launched a new campaign on international harm reduction.

Methadone and Buprenorphine, like all other harm reduction techniques, can effectively reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS and improve the life quality and safety of its users. This campaign focuses on spreading awareness of these facts in an effort to both reform harm reduction policies around the world and reduce the stigma surrounding drug replacement therapy. The campaign features two superheroes, Methadone Man and Buprenorphine Babe, who work together to help injecting drug users in distress and promote drug replacement therapy on a global scale.

The campaign also features a series of webisodes, The Adventures of Methadone Man and Buprenorphine Babe, depicting the heroes' exploits. The series is inspired by the old 1960s Batman and Robin television series or Electra Girl and Dyna Woman series of the same vain.
