Safer Communities - Special issue on law enforcement and reducing harms

1 January 2009

This issue consider the role of enforcement in reducing the harms caused by drugs.

Depending on your perspective, this might seem like a strange concept. Some will argue that the role of enforcement is to enforce drug laws, end of story. Others will say that enforcement is the cause of a great deal of harm and so to consider its role in reducing harm is perverse. However, the widely accepted and established view is that the ultimate aim of tackling drug markets and enforcing drug laws should be to reduce drug harms.
