India HIV/AIDS Alliance (Alliance India) was founded in 1999 as an NGO to support sustained responses to HIV in India. Alliance India works through capacity building, technical support and advocacy to strengthen the delivery of effective, innovative, community-based interventions to key populations (KP) affected by the HIV epidemic: men who have sex with men, transgenders, hijras, sex workers, people who inject drugs, youth, and people living with HIV. Alliance India provides capacity building and technical support to more than 500 NGOs and CBOs in 31 Indian states and union territories. With support from donors including (but not limited to) the Global Fund, USAID/PEPFAR, Elton John AIDS Foundation, the Government of the Netherlands and the European Union, the organisation implements complex, large-scale and effective HIV/AIDS programmes backed by sound grant making, contract-management, and finance. Alliance India also brings its experience in the provision of technical support to civil society organisations, government and the private sector in the South Asia region. Our Alliance Regional Technical Support Hub for South Asia supports a range of clients to respond more effectively and efficiently to HIV/AIDS.
