First European Conference on Addictive Behaviours and Dependencies

12 August 2014

The Lisbon Conference is a major new event in the addictions calendar. The Portuguese General-Directorate for Intervention on Addictive Behaviours and Dependencies (SICAD — Serviço de Intervenção nos Comportamentos Aditivos e nas Dependências) the journal Addiction, the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) and the International Society of Addiction Journal Editors (ISAJE) are combining to put on a conference for researchers, policy makers and practitioners, bringing cutting-edge science and practice together.

The conference will showcase European addiction science covering illicit drugs, alcohol, tobacco, gambling and other addictive behaviours and cover epidemiology, policy research, clinical research, social sciences, behavioural science and human psychopharmacology.

There will be invited keynote presentations from European and international top addiction experts, opportunities to present new findings, multi-disciplinary workshops and discussion forums.

The conference is also intended as a major networking event and facilities will be available to support network and specialist meetings in its margins.

Call for abstracts

The conference welcomes submissions for papers and rapid communications, but also invite proposals for symposia, panel discussions and workshops. Abstracts of recently published papers are accepted. A Scientific Committee composed of experts/scientists from different addiction-related fields will grade abstracts on a scale from 1 to 5 in terms of priority. Each abstract will be rated twice. Please note that the Programme Committee may, in some circumstances, re-allocate symposia, papers and rapid communications to a different theme, and invite paper presenters to make a rapid communication rather than to present a paper.

Abstracts should be submitted in English, the language of the conference. Download detailed abstract guidelines here.

Submissions should be sent as Word files using the form provided to info@lisbonaddictions.eu
