Infographic: Romania’s second plague - Tuberculosis

A reduction in funding support for needle and syringe exchange programs, together with a major increase in the use of new psychoactive substances in Romania, has resulted in a massive increase in HIV cases among people who inject drugs. Furthermore in Romania poor health care services provided for people who live with drugs is the main cause for the renewed spread of tuberculosis, leading to increased mortality.
