Menhara recruits operational research consultant

13 February 2013

Middle East North Africa Harm Reduction Association (Menhara) recruits an operational research consultant for the multi-centre operational research on female IDU and gender issues in harm reduction.

In an effort to respond to existing gaps in information regarding female drug users as well as their limited access to harm reduction services, community-based qualitative research is planned to investigate the health-related harms, service barriers, and impact of current (if existing) harm reduction and prevention strategies among female drug users (DUs) and IDUs. The research will look at factors that reduce women DUs access to health care. The research will target seven countries from all the sub-regions.

The Consultant will be responsible for the development of the research protocols following a literature review, the identification of 7 countries from the MENA region to conduct the research within, the identification of focal points from each of the 7 countries, data analysis or research report, among others.

The deadline for applications is February 22, 2013.
