The Senior Technical Adviser, Community Responses and Drug Use leads the Secretariat’s work on drug use, including harm reduction, collaborating across the Secretariat and with external partners. The Senior Technical Advisor takes responsibility for support and technical guidance to ensure community responses and drug use considerations are integrated throughout the grant cycle as well as the conduct of related analysis of the Global Fund grant portfolio and broader policy and funding environment.

This is a new position, seeking someone motivated and creative with a track record of strategic leadership and working collaboratively and a passion for social justice and equitable policing. The role involves developing and delivering a business strategy that ensures the ongoing sustainability, growth and success of StopWatch and managing the organization - overseeing staff, interns and contractors and the delivery of projects. It will also involve applying research and evidence-based expertise, planning creative campaigns to engage and empower the public, exercising political judgment and influencing police and policy-makers, building coalitions and working collaboratively with other organisations, representing the organisation and finding new ways to secure the widest possible exposure for StopWatch’s policy and research across social and traditional media.
